1) Nook runs a few different shops in town. You're in constant debt to him...Yet he can't ever just take the money. It HAS to go through the post or whatever. I don't know what he's involved in, but I'm afraid he might break my legs...

2) The shops all close at some point...Yet Isabelle, Nook, Pelly, Kicks...NONE of these people have houses! Where do they go?! Are they ghosts? Gods? Eldritch horrors made adorable?

3) The citizens are...Very abnormal. I once sent Bertha (who I really dislike as of late) a letter reading, and I quote [with censor asterisks], "Eat ****, **** off and die!"...Next day, I get a response saying it "filled her with joy"...And she regularly shows off the "first letter [you] ever sent me!" which reads quite simply "You're gross. Get out of my town." ...She has yet to leave and in fact has adopted one of my custom Able Sisters shirts as her preferred fashion. All this along with her "bloop!" tic, I'm starting to wonder if she's all there anymore...

4) All villagers seem to have astoundingly poor memory. They barely remember if I was just beating them with hammers minutes prior...

4) Kapp'n never leaves his boat. Ever. o_o

5) In some cases, the mayor mysteriously vanishes, never to return, and the town crumbles into chaos, starvation, attempted cannibalism of Blathers, riots...

All things considered, this town that I'm mysteriously in charge of is completely terrifying under the surface...Is this place secretly Silent Hill?

Is this inspired from that IGN article? It's kind of funny but now it's just weird lol.

Nook lets you buy a house with no money and trusts you to pay it off by your own schedule. I don't get all the fear and loathing for the guy. Is he supposed to do this stuff for free? :P

I like to believe that the no-show mayor was actually part of a criminal organization who abducts villagers from all over the globe in an attempt to gain money and make the "perfect" utopia. The starter villagers have been brainwashed through various methods before arriving in your village. The no-show mayor is currently being pursued by the police, and that is why he never came to claim his or her prize. The mayor role essentially becomes one of a dictator, as you pursue to gain all the bells, as the workers remain at their posts 24/7 to keep your economy even somewhat stable. The reason people move in is because your town name starts to spread, and when people come the people have been trained to be very welcoming, unknowingly to suffer the same as the others.

Either that, or we can just look at the cute animals :3

See, that's the irony. If someone like Nook existed, he would be ADORED. XD

Kapp'n can sometimes be seen in the cafe c:

I don't have a cafe yet...How get? :(

Also. Also. ALSO!

(Fun fact: I haven't seen him in my town yet but just before the campsite was completed, Bree wanted me to get signatures for a Ban Scary Clowns petition. I failed to do so...I'm afraid.)

OMG. Does that Pietro thing really exist. I don't even want to know.
(Actually he looks kinda cute, although I'm pathologically afraid of him killing me in my sleep.

Creepy Crossing makes more sense in the GC version. Though it still is kinda suspicious that they make you do all the damn work... but let's not argue game mechanics. :P

Ahhh I had Pietro in my previous town...I didn't like him one bit but he never seemed to want to move out even though I tried my best to ignore him. My other villagers seemed to love him though because they always wanted me to deliver presents from them to him... And whenever a villager was seemingly gone they turned out to hang out at his place?
