[About villager house location trick...]

A new villager is coming and I was about to try the villager house location trick. But then I realised I can't do it because I already have 4 characters created.

So I was wondering... does the trick still works if I delete a character? Or it just doesn't because if I delete one of them the game will make a save state?

Hiya. Is your new villager due to plot their house tomorrow? If so, you can delete a character today, ready for plot-resetting the next day.
If you're already on the day that your villager is due to place their house, I think the game will save as it's deleting a character, and may also save a plot location in your town, meaning you won't be able to plot reset.

It's the 2nd day I'm afraid, the plot is already there and the villager will be in boxes tomorrow. So that's what I'm guessing, I can't delete any character now because the game will save and the villager's house will be definitively where it is now ._.

Aww that's a shame Maybe you'll get lucky and the plot will be somewhere decent! That's happened to me before, I forgot to plot reset, and the villager actually went somewhere pretty great without any help from me at all

Well finally not the best spot on the whole map, but not the worst either

So for the next villagers to come I was thinking about this and obviously I'm gonna have to delete a character. The bad part about this is that all my 4 characters have designs placed around the town, so I don't really want to delete any of them

Would this trick still work if I move one of my characters to my girlfriend's game, and when I'm done with all my villagers I take I back? I've never used the moving option so I'm not sure about this but I think it should work, right? I mean, my character will conserve all of his designs (they will disappear from the town when he's gone I guess), but I'll be able to create a new character. After that, when I'm happy with all of my villagers, I can move him back and place the designs again... is that it?

You can only move a character to a new town as that town's mayor, I'm afraid. They aren't transferable how you want. :c
