Right, so sorry if this has already been discussed. But Merengue. She's made of meringue. As in the pudding. Pronounced muh-rang. But her name is merengue. As in the dance. Pronounced mer-ren-gay.

How do you say her name? Did the translators just spell her name wrong? Is it a pun I'm just not getting? I need answers, please!

I've always just read it like 'mer rang'

Me too

She is a strawberry shortcake rhino, That is facts, she has nothing to do with the dance in my opinion.

I'm not too sure why her name is spelt like that though. I looked up what Mere means and this is what i think they were hinting at maybe?

late Middle English (in the senses ?pure? and ?sheer, downright?): from Latin merus ?undiluted.?

Which sounds right she is of the normal personality so she is pure and downright which just means straight forward, to the point.

I pronounce it mer-rang. I just thought that's how it's pronounced, seeing as she's made of strawberry shortcake. I guess it's just an error in translation, sort of like how normal Hazel became Sally, Sally became Cally, and uchi Hazel is new.

Ive been saying it like the dance. only had her in my campsite tho, had no idea she's made of pudding...

I thought it was mer-rang.

Interesting thread! I didn't know it was a dance with a difference pronunciation, to be honest.

She'll respond to megaphone when you pronounce it "Mer-rang", so I pronounce it that way. ;)
