Is your whole town ruined? If so, you might as well reset. If not, just work on earning the bells to buy back those things. Don't let random people run around alone from now on.

When new people visit my town, I always have someone I trust with me. We will follow them, like, the whole time. Maybe you could invite a friend over to play while meeting new people. Plus, if I suspect something is off, I flip the switch. I'm sorry this happened to you. Sometimes, people will act like fluffing criminals running around your town

If your town isn't that bad right now, you can always try posting something on the Re-Tail board for any offers of Bells, furniture, hybrids, etc. Most of the users here are really nice and won't charge you a Bell. (｀・ω・?)” If I wasn't in a resetting hole, I would definitely help you out! ; o ;

It's sad but it happens sometimes. Ever since someone stole some purple hybrid roses from me last summer, I never have visitors except for trades. If someone wants to explore my town they can do it in their dream suite!
