How come when people talk about about the series they only ever talk about the 8-bit classic games and 16-bit X games? When ever people bring up Megaman it's only Meganman 1 2 3 4 5 6 9 10 and Megaman X 1 2 & 3 but ignore the other games in those series and the Megaman legends, Zero, ZX, Battle Network and Star Force series, but why? I can only understand ignoring X6 and X7 cause X7 was just a very flawed game and X6 wasn't even supposed to exist yet all the other games very well made and have a lot of effort put into yet nobody gives them the time of day and sometimes I think it's one of the reasons why Inafune left Capcom because people only cared about the 8-bit Classic and 16-bit X games and therefor capcom wouldn't let him make any other megaman games besides those cause there the only ones people cared for and would buy so in order to work on other Megaman stuff that wasn't those games he left, I know it's not true but sometimes I feel like that was one of the reasons he left. But seriously why? Why do people only ever talk about those games when their are many MANY other games in the franchise that are just as good yet got no acknowledgement?

Hopefully this won't get ignored like the last on I made...

Ignored yet again...

I personally think only Mega Man II & III are that great, really. Sure, alot of others are ok, like Mega Man X and Rockman & Forte, but it was mostly downhill for the series after the first three games.

No, I've played most of the genuine Mega Man-games. I kinda do like the Zero-games, but I don't really count them towards the main series.

Don't you like the classics?

I like all megaman games I just feel a majority of them are unjustly ignored and you really shouldn't discount the handheld games from the continuity because they ARE canon to the main series the only ones that are not are Battle Network and Starforce as they take place in their own continuity.

I personally think people pretend the franchise doesn't exist anymore so they can make their favourite games the last ones ever made.

Really? Cause last I check nobody talks about the newers games and only talk about the early Classic and X games

I'm shocked there's a thread about Mega Man here O_o

I'm a HUUUUGE Mega Man fan.

This is my ringtone:

I've been playing Mega Man since the old NES days, I grew up playing them...and have played almost every Mega Man title released thus far, even the spinoffs like Mega Man Extreme for Game Boy Color.

While the X series is BY FAR my favorite (X1 - X8, yes, I liked 6, 7, and 8), I thoroughly enjoyed the classics, as well as the Battle Network series, and the Star Force series. They are all unique, and each offer something different to the franchise, and I think Capcom is STUPID for letting Inafune go the way they did.

Well, it's all good. Mighty No. 9 will show them that WE STILL LOVE MEGA MAN.

Yay another Megaman fan also wait, people hated X8!?

The general consensus from what Ive seen is that X6 and onward all suck. I disagree, but thats what most people say.

Anyway...kind of hoping they do a Battle Network and/or Star Force collection for DS/3DS one day.

As much as I wish that could happen it probably won't cause the last Megaman Collection that was of the newer games actually cost Capcom money instead of making cause nobody bought it. It sad to say but they most likely won't make it cause the fan only care the early Classic and X games. :(

Yeah I know :/
I own them all separately on GBA but an all-in-one on DS would be cool xD

Guess I could get a flash cart? Lol

What do you think of Mighty No. 9 so far?

Megaman is dead because Capcom buried him with many of their classic well known titles, They also spat on his grave because it raised their Capcodollars.

So Inafune ditched the Salt and is making his own vidya games that just look like Megaman rip-offs, Not like I have a massive problem with it but I wanna see him make NEW games!

Otherwise I love Megaman X, I can speed run X1 - X6, X5 was the worst of the series IMO.

As long as they don't give it the same treatment BN5 got for DS... just straight ports with home menu access. Maybe online battling, but that might be asking for too much.

First off why do so many people complain about X5? I've played and beaten it multiple times and I really don't see the issue with it, also I still haven't figured out why the newer games are never acknowledged. As for Mighty No.9 I think it looks great and I'm looking foward to along with Azure Striker Gunvolt.
