I left my 3DS at a relative's house and I'm afraid that I might lose a villager because it's been a while since anyone said they were moving. I read that I should make a new character to check if anyone is gone or moving, and if someone is, I should time travel to the day I last played. There's a problem, though. I have 4 characters already and don't want to delete any. So... when I get my 3DS back, should I just time travel to the day I last played before I load any files, and then try to get every villager to ping or wait for someone to say someone is moving so that I know for sure if everything is okay? Will that work? This is the only thing I'm wiling to time travel for.

If is so, yepp just time travel to be really safe. Cause you can always carefully TT back to today. Be safe than sorry huh? 16 cycle is enough to scare you lol

Go back to the day you leave them and nobody will remember you have left and so~ sorry phone is so stupid for me to further explain.

Well since you can't do the create a new character thing then yes I would do what you suggested, just TT to the day you played it last (assuming no one has played it there without you knowing) and run up to everyone outside and see if they ping you. If they don't then talk to a villager you're closest to to see if they talk about rumors of anyone thinking of moving (keep talking to them until they tell you to leave them alone). If you don't get anything then chances are you're safe but there is no way of knowing for 100% certain unless you create a new character...

For future reference though you really should keep the max amount of player characters in your town to 3 to avoid situations like this. How long has it been since you played last?

Idk if that's true because...I have tried to get villigers back by tt and they just end up gone. Like one was moving that day. So I tt'd 2 days back and his entire house was gone. Happened twice.

That's different because you tried to TT backwards thinking it works like pressing rewind for a movie. That's not how it works. In this case he's TT back to the day he played last BEFORE he ever loads up the game so no game days have passed since he played it last. Then he can, at his own pace, day by day, TT back to the current date.

I last played on March 2nd.
Edit: Also, I have New Leaf at my house right now, so no one can play it without me knowing. There was a Kirby game left in the 3DS.

Ok so you're fine then. It's only a couple days so not a lot of work to catch up.
Well played keeping the game, well played :P

TT'ing backwards no matter how many days actually counts as going 1 day forward which is why it didn't work for you and the villager was gone.
