I'm starting a new town, and I want to know, what got you guys creative on your names? Did you reference something? Did you play on a word? I'm actually trying to think of a new name, because my current one no longer finds suit in my heart. xD;

That and I just found that I want this villager named Sly.

Ugh.

WHAT SHOULD I NAME YOU TOWN?

Sly is super cool, I got him as a starter in my new town, I kind of wish he was a cranky though, so he could be a grumpy veteran... but with town names I usually look up simple words in other languages, so I have Lluvia (means rain) and Arryire (Means fall) which are somewhat original and sound super cool.

My current towns are Moontown and I Kokiri . Lol just put two words together, Moonwave, lakemoon (I <3 Moons) or a reference to something Skyloft,Hyrule, Kokiri (I also Love zelda lol) XD

I made Auroris and Lovejoy as my 2 town names. :)

Auroris = Aurora Borealis condensed into 1 word.
Lovejoy = Just 2 nice words smooshed together.

I just thought you were a Pokemon fan when I saw that >.<

Uh, well, it's pretty complex for me. See, I've suffered from depression since I was seven (yes, kids can have it, too) because I was raised in an abusive household. I had a lot of problems back then and not a whole lot of friends because of 'em. So for a long time, the thing that made me happiest was the anime Digimon because I had a huge crush on the character Kari and I just loved everything about her, especially her crest of Light. Even as a kid, I understood that meant being happy and optimistic and just hopeful, and that crest just became a really important, meaningful symbol in my life. That's why I decided to name my town Lux, which means "light" in Latin. I also toyed with the ideas of Hikari (means "light" in Japanese) or using Lumos again (another Latin word for "light"), but I felt liked Lux had more of an edge to it and I wanna save Hikari in case I ever decide to do a Digimon-themed town.
Oh, and sorry in advance if came off as some super corny sob-story. I was just trying to be honest, I swear ^_^"

I have Ophylix, which I made up myself and then Olympus which is from Greek mythology. I'm thinking of making a third town and naming it Ostport and having a nautical themed port town.
