So I have the greatest difficulty in selecting a jock villager for my town. From the earlier AC games I have played (WW) I cannot remember who I had, and thus do not have sentimental feelings towards this character group or a specific villager from this group. At the moment, I still have my starter Buck. I enjoy him very much and do not hate the jock personality as much as others... but my island will eventually be more natural themed (actually ancient Greek), and for that I would like a jock that looks more natural than Buck does (he is a cool green horse with large eyebrows).

I have been looking at Bill and Rudy, but can't really decide. What are your experiences with both of these villagers? Who would you choose? Or would you recommend another jock villager to me?

Thanks for your help!

First of all I really like your theme and I'm curious to see your island, then Bill and Rudy are both very cute. I could recommend Peck too, he seems to fit the theme and has brown colors too.

I think it depends on your other villagers, do you already have a cat/duck/horse in your town ?
Personally I don't really like horses villagers so it's hard for me to recommend you to keep Buck but a horse could be appropriate for a Greek theme, but you could take Julian as Pegase for your smug instead lol

My jock is Scooter at the moment and a cute little duck as a Jock is a very fun thing to have on your island since he's so little but talk about big muscles haha, so maybe consider Bill.

Oh and Billy could be a nice choice too ! There's a lot of goats in Greece and an old one is cool, you just have to change his outfit for something like a white dress.

Bill and Rudy are great. But if you're going for an ancient Greek theme, I guess STERLING would be more fitting. His house interior is a literal dungeon.
Trust me since I spent my childhood in Greece, Sterling has nothing of Greece or Ancient Greece aesthetic for him, nor his house. He's more British/Medieval themed.

I know. He's a knight/cavalier after all. :p I thought of gladiators/Spartans and he's the first one that came to mind. The most Greek villager I know of is Klaus, but he's a smug.

Bam!!!! He is one of the cuter Jock villagers. Plus, he's a deer.

I would also recommend Hamlet. He's so adorable when he runs! ❤

Isn't Klaus based off of Julius Caesar/a Roman Emperor?

Thank you for all your recommendations up until now! The funny thing is, I don't have either a cat or a goat in my town, so both Rudy and Billy are great in that regard (I have a duck - Pompom - but eventually she will go, so Bill is still an option). Though I don't really care about a diversity in species, so that's back to square 1 ;)

I think it would be cute to have such a small thing like Bill talking about muscles. Though Rudy is very cute as well, so that would maybe have the same effect.

@Magus: I honestly did not even think about having a goat as a villager! I have been to Greece quite often, but somehow never registrered an abundance of goats. Though that could be because I have mostly been in the area around Athens, which is heavily industrified. Thanks for the recommendation, I will surely consider him.

EDIT: I just saw the interior of Billy's houses, and he lives in trash :o WHYYYY, he has such a natural theme going for him!

And you can be sure I am going to dress all my villagers in a white dress - there is actually a chiton in the game, so I will for sure use that!

@Rosch: thank you, but Sterling is indeed too medieval for my tastes :')

@Bk1234: O noo, even more cute jocks! I cannot really go for Bam, though, since he is blue. Not really natural. Hamlet is a good option, however!

You guys have already given me much to think about, thank you so much! :)

I think Billy looks like a cretan goat that's why haha, yeah there a lot of goats in Greece but more in the mountains I guess. In Athens clearly the theme is cats everywhere
Billy's interior house is quite a concept lol, I see him as an old messy librarian !

Yeah, the only mountainous region I have been in was Delphi... and they probably made sure the goats cannot come close to the sanctuary of Apollo :') That's a good way of thinking about Billy... I begin to like him more and more, which makes this decision ever harder (I don't want more than one jock in my town, I think).

Hahaha, cats AND dogs! Though I like cats better in this game, so that's all in favour of Rudy :p

It's hard to choose there's so many cool and unique villagers... One of my friend has Billy on her island and even if she don't like Jocks (or Male villagers except Lazy lol) she really likes him because of that "ancient" vibe.

I'd say you wouldn't go wrong with either one.
I had Rudy back in NL so I may be slightly biased there as I thought he was cute.
I, personally, don't like Buck so wouldn't recommend to keep him (plus being your starter, he's sure to have. his DIY house interior) - but that's just me though.

Don't know how well he would fit the Ancient Greek theme, but Teddy is just a grizzly bear, can't get more natural than that

Love your island theme idea! I think Rudy is cute, though Bill definitely seems stylistically to be a lot more natural (Rudy is a bit clowny or cartoonish in comparison imo).
I do really like Magus' suggestion of Billy though! His almost cranky like design paired with the Jock personality makes it easy for to imagine him as an almost Socratic figure, who has that erudite appearance and reputation but who really goes around annoying everyone haha!
