My cousin says that the characters in Pikmin are cowards because they use the Pikmin to fight stuff for them instead of fighting them by themselves.

Apparently he does not know what a coward is. He says that a coward is a person who doesn't fight their own battles. However, a dictionary says this: a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person. If Olimar, Louie, The President, Alph, Charlie or Brittany lacked the courage to face danger or was easily intimidated, they would have not even attempted to fight any of the enemies in the game at all, even with the Pikmin.

He also say the same thing about Kirby because he copies other peoples abilities instead of using his own. Again, he must not know the definition of a coward. If he was a coward, he wouldn't even attempt to fight the enemies at all, even with his copy ability.

What do you guys think about this?

You're right, he's wrong. Your cousin just doesn't know the full definition of the word coward, which has led him to take his own approach to the word. As for your cousin's side of the argument, I'd call them more strategic rather than a coward.
Maybe you can buy him a dictionary for his birthday, just saying.
