A Custom Dress Question

I like custom dress', especially the ones which aren't "dresses" but more like coats or a shirt and skirt. But I'm wondering, is there anyway you can change the way you run so you don't flail your arms like when you're wearing a yellow raincoat/Captain's Jacket?
