I actually grew a bell tree. If I pick the money, will it just become a normal tree? I read that somewhere.

In WW, it gave 3 99,000 bell bags.
NL gives you 3 25,000 bags, and only if you plant 99,000.

I only tried planting 1,000 a few times recently. I planted more some time ago without any luck, so I haven't tried it in a while. I wonder how much is in mine now.

I think the chances increase with how many bells you plant. If you just want them for aesthetics, try planting 100,000 next time.

1,000 bells only gives a 1% chance, but using money is a quick way to grow fruitless trees without buying saplings.

I wanted to give this a go so I planted 30,000 and my tree had 3 bags of 25,000 for a total of 75,000. I thought a gain of 45,000 was pretty good so I haven't tried it again. It was fun to do once.

I've wasted around a million bells. :-/

I never thought of using it as a decoration! That's a brilliant idea! I may have to plant another tree.....

Already have one i planted the bells too! One near my house as a decoration...and one for profits...hopefully...i buried 99k for a huge chance for a tree...and 50k so i can get a little extra spending money

oh so that's why it didn't work for me. i used a silver shovel >.<

Yeah sadly using a silver shovel just buries the money as if it were an item. Using a golden shovel will always produce a sapling if it's a 1,000 bell sack or over. I did this to landscape some areas recently I wanted to do it on an alt but she didn't have the golden shovel.

Just as an aside, I prefer the silver shovel, because it can make the bell rock produce ore, whereas the golden shovel can't.

i see i don’t have the golden shovel yet, a few more days of buying saplings should do the trick, though.
