You could also ask someone to give you another rating, which a positive rating to negate the negative one.

That....doesn't work. It's a percentage system. No matter how many ratings he/she gets, it will never bee 100% positive. 9 positive ratings and 1 negative total up to 90%, not 100%. They don't cancel out.
