on this website duping and hacking are considered cheating and it is therefore against the rules to encourage them. i didn't know there were any people who actually thought of duping as not cheating. lol, now i know

I used to dupe with my friend all the time so i don't really see an issue with it; same for time traveling...
But to answer your question, yes that is possible with royal crowns (i cant remember if bell boom or premium is required for that though)

As for duping,I don't consider it to be cheating. If someone was clever enough to find out that duping was even possible in ACNL, then let them dupe. However, I will not be offended if you say that duping is cheating; after all, we all are entitled to our opinion. If someone says that duping is a form of cheating, let them think that. All you do is use the game's mechanics in a different way.
If you were to get Powersave or action replay into this, then I think it would be cheating. Nothing wrong with using action replay or Powersave in my opinion, but you should say that you used it to get whatever if you are trading/selling/giving away something that you got via an external device.
And time traveling is just playing differently. Nothing wrong with time traveling in my opinion.
