what i really find funny about all of this is everyone that keeps saying it's all a lie end up saying somewhere in their posts that "the apocolypse will be sometime in the future... blah blah, not when i'm here."
but a big question to all you guys...
did you know that you're totally contradicting yourselves? you say that it's a lie. you say that you believe the apocolypse will be sometime far off, and maybe humans won't even be alive in that time. all religion is a lie...
but did you know that the apocolypse is in the bible? so if you acknowledge it exists and will happen, you can't say that it's a lie also, lol. just thought that was quite funny. the word wouldn't even be in existance if it wasn't in the bible.

Saying it's probably a lie that it will be occurring on 12/21/12. It might happen in the future, it might not. That I don't know. I don't even believe in religion or the bible.

Well according to my good ol pal dictionary.com he states that an apocalypse can be:

any universal or widespread destruction or disaster

The sun is a star. When stars die they explode and that's called a 'super nova' The sun is so massive that when it has it's super nova it will take down the first four planets of the solar system. I said that I don't expect the world to end any time soon because I doubt the sun will be exploding around now.

The point post was the fact that Nedrian was getting butthurt about people saying the word 'Apocalypse' and then saying that the Bible's not true. It's sort of obvious they don't necessarily mean the Revelations version of the Apocalypse, so that's why my post was referring to.

I agree with Nedrian that the Bible is true, but I'm not gonna be a crazed Christian that everyone hates. I don't like those people who try to impose their Christianity on others. It's their choice. God doesn't need defending, he needs us to spread the gospel. So I don't need to fight over whether it's real or not. I know it is, but I'm not gonna impose it.

My personal beliefs is that everything is true, but whatever.

Passively saying that you know that the Bible is true is the same as shoving your beliefs on others, to some. I just wish you wouldn't say stuff like that. It brings up things that shouldn't be talked about here. We're not mature enough of a forum for that.

And yes, I know what Revelations is, but I haven't read it. The only part of the Bible I read was Genesis when I was bored in a funeral.

i wasn't "butthurt" at all, lol. i've never personally heard the term "apocolypse" ANYWHERE outside of it's usage in the bible, and the same goes for armageddon. sorry i'm not hip and up to date in the way the world uses these words, because i take them as the literal meaning they were used for, and originated from, which was the bible. i was assuming that "the end of the world" would be called "the end of the world" and not something biblical like the apocalypse. sorry for being "butthurt." =*(

Really everyone has their own personal end of the world it is called death. Why everyone seems to think the rest of the world is going down with them is beyond me. As far as I can see right now our race will be able to survive a lot, we have proven to be adaptable enough to have people live in Antarctica, we are at a time when people start guessing at how we can spread to other planets. I really doubt we will get killed off on this planet before that.

i recently heard that scientists are thinking about or planning to send algae to mars and let it colonize somewhere somehow since like they say 60% of our oxygen on earth comes from algae... so by the time the sun gets to the size where we would be almost like mercury, we'd start sending people to mars to live there. but even then, the sun's going to explode... so we'll just turn into pluto after a while.

Actually that really wouldnt help much anyway, since theres 2 supposed outcomes, when the sun swells it could blow off mass wherein the earth will retreat to a safer oribt, or tidal forces drag the earth in and it becomes engulfed eventually anyway.


Either way you slice it, our country as a whole has been through rougher times, and people hae been shouting about the end of the world for hundreds of years now. Is it possible? Yeah, but it was just as possible 100 years ago, and 100 years before that
