It was obvious to him who the sender was, though funnily enough, it actually made things more complicated, more difficult, more regrettable for the two of them.
He traced the outline of the paper through the envelope. Roscoe crumpled it between his fingers, watching the invisible creases fold in on themselves. With a heavy heart, he tossed it away, sending it sailing over the air and inside the metal bin just outside the cold, imposing convenience store.
