Thisthisthisthisthis! god I feel like this stems from the almighty "participation award" that comes during your childhood. Then when people hit the real world they're like "where is my ribbon? I don't care if I'm an adult or an awful person or bad at stuff, I deserve my RIIIIBBBONNN!!1!"
