That's really weird. At first I thought you just left your gates open, since music keeps playing then even when the 3DS is closed. But then I tried entering the Dream Suite with open gates and it wouldn't let me. I tried closing my 3DS in the Dream Suite without open gates and I didn't hear any music. Also used headphones in case that affected things and still heard nothing.
