Quick question:

When gifting villagers cloth items, will they only place it on the 1x1 markers that were originally free (even if they are already filled by something you gave them), meaning they don't replace any of their original "None" category items, or is there a chance they replace those too?

I think they might replace those in the 1x1 none marker. I asked in the datamine chat and they inform me that clothing on the walls can be replaced but I never had a villager with clothing on the wall so I can't test or confirm.

I can test it later today with Colton. His house is the only one I have on my island I can actual test with

Would be very interesting to know. From my own experience, I've yet so see them replace their original None category items with clothing items, but I've also seen other people's villagers with 4+ clothing items displayed in their house.

Then again, I've also noticed they don't always displayed clothing items when gifted normally (in person as opposed to via the mail). Not really sure why.

I mailed Marshal 20 pieces of clothing yesterday so I will know if he will replace his menu chalkboard tomorrow or not. Will keep you updated.

So yeah, Marshal replaced both the item in his 1x1 RoomMarker AND his Menu Chalkfboard, so they do replace their original "None" category items. Bummer, makes certain characters with a bunch of None category items very risky to have (looking at you Butch, really wanted you).

She was one of my first two villagers so she has the basic house.
Will I have to do this before she moves and moves back, or will her house reset to what her house is supposed to be despite the gifts she has received?
I'd like her to have the interior she is supposed to have instead of this wooden block furniture.

I don't know anything about that. I have never done it. She'll move back in with her original house but I don't know what will happen to her storage.
The only gurantee method I know of is to find her on another island or go through one of the amiibo services in the neighbor network.

I'll see what happens. She hasn't received enough yet for her storage to bother me much. What's mainly bothering me is the basic/beginner walls, flooring, and furniture that she got when she upgraded from a tent.
I kind of want her to remember me so that's why haven't found her on another island or done the amiibo method yet.

I gifted Phoebe a flame tee and she ended up hanging it on the wall of her home. She’s in a starter home. Do you know what the best way to get the shirt off the wall would be? Either into her wardrobe or out of her inventory entirely? I really just want her to be able to wear it, it looks so cool on her

You won't be able to get the shirt off the wall. Any other shirt/dress you give her replace the one on the wall. Just give her a second flame shirt so one goes into her wardrobe and the other stays on the wall.

Once you gift them 64 times or so stuff starts to permanately dissapear? Or sometimes will it go back?

Personally i just want to get rid of a table top item i gifted in a starter house but its on a 2x 2 table and theres only 2 items on the table its only the 3rd gift starter lazy house...

If she's wearing it it's not going to be in her wardrobe. She might be wearing it under whatever fitness clothing she is currently wearing and she works a out a lot because it's her hobby.

It's 32 furniture items. I don't know where you are getting 64 from. Some items will disappear others will stay. You are probably better off trying to replace the table top item with something you want to be there than try to get it to disappear

She’s definitely only wearing her black knotted tee, and the flame tee isn’t in her wardrobe ever, so I have no idea Sigh... thanks for the ideas though!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just want to make sure that I understand. So if I gift a villager an item that matches the description tags of another item inside the house, can it replace that item, or will it fill empty spaces before replacing items? Sprinkle in my town has a starter Peppy house and I love it, I want to replace her floating Bioptape container though. It's a white 1×1 item on her floor. She has been gifted a dress in the past but wears it often so her house is unchanged from when she first moved in. So if I give her something exactly like the Bioptape container will I be able to replace it?

I've got a question. Just to better understand how this works.

I gave Olivia a Mom's Tea Cozy in hopes that she displays it on any of her empty tables, it's been a couple of days though and it still hasn't shown up. When I checked to see whether or not it's placeable, the tea cozy has only "kitchen" listed out. Does that mean she can't display it on any of her tables? Her tables have the category "Base_Table" or "Base_Display".

I gave Ankha a Mummy Suit and a Mummy Mask and all of the sudden she replaced one of her coffins with her worktable, now the coffin and gold plates are missing, she doesnt swaps the coffin only puts her worktable, she is not displying any of the gifted cloths, how can I restore the coffin and plates?

Edit: Ignore this, she just put her coffin and dishs back in place after a week...
