just a quick warning, tho... i believe nintendo can track where a switch is, call this creepy, so i think they MIGHT be able to tell if you're letting random people on the family plan, and usually that isn't allowed. I'm saying this because my brother let us on his Spotify family plan for a while and then they cancelled it for all of us cuz they finally figured out we don't live together lol

Can they really do this? I've been sharing a plan with friends (online and irl) for 2 years or so with zero problems (knock on wood, hope it stays that way if that's the case).

As for whether Nintendo would allow it or not, surely members of the same family can live in different places, so maybe it's fine.

oh, never knew that. Maybe they don't track you on the Switch, after all. I think they did on 3DS because of the "how many steps did you walk" thingy. I guess tracking people's gaming devices would be pretty bad, because a lot of kids maybe bring them on trips/to school, or just have them at home, and that'd be a MAJOR breach of child privacy I guess. And everyone else's privacy too, lol.

Well, then I guess there's no need to worry if this person lets random people on the plan

I have been doing this with a lot of strangers, and a bunch of different family plans since shortly before ACNH came out, and i haven't had any issues.
