I love shooter, casual, horror and action games! They all have different experiences and different flavours that makes me more interested in them. I also love the type of games when action and horror combines! What is your taste in gaming?

Recently I've started to get into real time strategy (RTS) games. I like the feeling of commanding an entire army. It's probably one of the hardest genres I've gotten into.

Other than that I play a lot of shooters and strategy games, and of course more casual games like Animal Crossing for when I just want to relax.

EDIT: Just remembered the hundreds of hours I've spent in city builders. I love them but they murder my PC once I start adding mods.

I usually enjoy rpg's, platformers, some fps, simulation games, survival, and i guess that is it for now lol

cRPG's. Like Shadowrun, Fallout 1+2 or Divinity (especially Original Sin. Fell in love with those two games) .

The absence of certain 'quality of life' features and 'hand holding' these games often lack are what make me really love them. Having to actually learn about the world and listen to NPC's, explore or at times even have certain skill levels to do a thing 'at all' to even do a basic quest is a lot more fun than just following quest markers, picking up anything with a glowing outline and an arrow above it or learning nothing about the world because I can skip 100% of dialogue with no real drawbacks. Not to mention those immortal quest NPC's.
RPG's that patronisingly guide and restrict the player just aren't fun for me. It's not an RPG if I can't accidentally kill somebody who later turned out to be really important or stumble onto and complete the end of a quest I wasn't even on by mistake.

And 3D 'collectathon' platformers. A Hat in Time, Banjo Kazooie, Mario 'anything but 3D World'. I've never found them particularly difficult or challenging, there only ever being a small handful of 'collectable thing' that is hard to get, but they're just fun.

Simulation games. It's why I'm here, and it's why I'm making a game!

Beyond that, probably RPGs and platformers. I love good stories, and I love the feel of platformers

Easily RPGs, and looking to try RTS games now since MapleSilver mentioned them. I want to be responsible for a bunch of units that could die if I mess up commanding them (Lol)

I really love most horror games, as well as rpgs and adventure games; but honestly I'm a sucker for anything with a half decent story lol

Hack & slash and JRPGs.

Most of my favourite games have been published by Koei Tecmo or Square Enix, respectively.

only rpgs and jrpgs entertain me lol, maybe the odd strategy

i guess simulation as well
platformers are good

gdi i cant choose 1

Survival horror, Action-Adventure, Fighting.

I HATE Rpg games, one good example is Final Fantasy X for the ps2 like why I cant smash buttons & kill people with yuna instead of clicking options & watch her do ****, it really really bothers me lool

glad they changed that with Final fantasy 15, now that's a fantastic move

i love strategy genre, some of the best gmae in startegy genre:

Rome: Total War

Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour

Medieval II: Total War

Age of Mythology

Supreme Commander

My favorite type of video game would probably have to be turn-based tactical role-playing games. Games like Fire Emblem, Shining Force, and the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor games are good examples.

I've also been a fan of fighting games since I was very young, so they're up there as well. Oh, and side-scrolling beat-'em-ups.

All these mentions of real-time strategy have gotten me interested in trying some, though I've only ever watched people play them thus far.

Honestly as long as it's not like boring sports games or elitist RTS things I'm open for most. I do prefer RPG or just casual simulators I guess though.

Why am I not surprised that most people here like RPGs? Lol, anyways, I'm into platformers, survival horror, point-and-click adventures, maybe a few others...a particular style of platformers I like is called "Metroidvania." LOVE THOSE GAMES!

idk, I play a bit of pretty much every genre that exists (except for horror). If I absolutely had to pick 1 though... I think I'd go with rhythm/music games. Practicing a song until you can play it perfectly/near perfect is so satisfying.
