Poppy is my favorite villager. She wasn't always, this happened just about a week ago, before then, Stitches and Merengue were tied for my favorites. Let me tell you the story:
About to weeks ago, I was doing some cycling for my cycling thread. I saw a new villager, Poppy, had moved in. I'd actually never seen or heard of her before (I know, I apparently live in a hole, I've been playing AC since WW). I walked over to her house, which she plopped down RIGHT next to my cycle mayor's house, and there she was. She was pulling a weed right outside of her house. She turned and looked at me, and I just fell in love. She has the most adorable face, the cutest little fluffy tail, and when she stands on a flower, all you can see of her is her little head poking out. I've never had a villager make me smile more than she did in the first two minutes of meeting/seeing her for the first time. I knew right then that I was going to be moving her into my main town, Pallet.
That was a very hard decision for me, because the villagers I have in my main have been my dreamies since I started New Leaf. I had them all in my town before I reset, and I immediately got them all back after I reset. I never thought I would have replaced one of them with ANY other villager, let alone one I had just seen for the first time. Normals are my favorite villager personality, and in Pallet, I had Merengue, Maple, and Flurry. I knew I was going to have to let one of them go if I wanted Poppy. I thought about it for days. I knew I couldn't let Merengue go, so it was down to Maple and Flurry. I was having the hardest time trying to choose between them... that is, until Maple gave me her picture for getting signatures for her petition. That was only the second time a villager had ever given me their picture while they were still living in my town, Fang being the first.
It was like the universe knew I had made the right choice in deciding to let Flurry go, because not even a day later, Flurry had pinged me to move. It hurt my heart so badly telling her it was okay to go, but I knew this was what I truly wanted. She sent me her picture in her goodbye letter, which I have proudly displayed in my house. Poppy now lives right to the left of my mayor's house. On her first day in Pallet, she attended the ceremony for a PWP she wasn't even there for when it was built. I always smile whenever I see her.
Long story short, this is how Poppy quickly went from unknown to my favorite villager. She has been in my town for only a few days now, but I love her so much. I could never even consider letting her go. I hope you enjoyed hearing about her! Sorry for such a long entry. ♡
