My title is gone for some reason but it was "Main/Entry Room Decorating"
I always try and get ideas when I go to other towns, but I'm curious because mine either always feels empty and boring or cluttered and messy so:
What do you guys do with your main/entry room? Its got all the doors to the other rooms so not much wall space, so I have always had the hardest time with it!
No matter what I do its always my least favorite room in my house.
Thoughts?

I have all four fully upgraded houses in my town, but right now they're all empty. I'm still trying to collect some last minute items for them (I've made a wishlist for it and all, but I refuse to make a wishlist for orderable items), but I'll hopefully start decorating soon.

I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, but I know that I'll have a stain glass in every house that has been customized differently (i.e., my Mayor, Bambie, will have a Yoshi on his stain glass).

But I'll probably do a living room or something.

My main room is a like a makeshift garage/gas station. I have some items from Ike's RV, Isabelle's scooter, and other types of transportation. Things are perfect, like they don't all go well with one another, but it's decent for the time being. I was going to make my basement the garage/gas station, but my wife's like, "how do you get the cars down there?" Lol.

Mines a mix between mario and modern wood stuff

I've seen lots of people (when visiting DA's) turning it into some sort of a living room with a wall-mounted tv on the north side :D

As for me, I wouldn't say the main rooms are my favorites but they look okay, I guess xD

Mine is like a living room/sitting room. Outside of ACNL I'm a big fan on neoclassical furniture and elaborate Edwardian interior decoration so my houses always follow that. It's a mix of classic/rococo furniture, with a fireplace and a coat rack with some rain boots by the door. I've always had the biggest trouble with it too though! It's just hard to get a perfectly blended mix of furniture set pieces. I hate just having one in a room, it doesn't ever feel like enough for me.

I find it really hard to decorate the main room when all ~doors~ have been unlocked.. so I feel your pain. I usually put plants near the doorways and try and break up the space with some kind of partition so it doesn't feel like one huge room. My go-to item is the large bookshelf: e.g. The bookshelf could separate the first half of the room which might have a shoe rack, phone, coat hanger, just stuff you'd see when you first enter a house.. the stuff behind the bookshelf barrier could be a couch a TV, like the main living room space.

Mine is a living room. I decorate my house they way I'd like to have it if I actually lived there, so that room is rococo, but I've also mixed a few creepy items in, and use different flooring/wallpaper. I plan to change the furniture colors, as well as floor/wallpaper, each season, just to keep things fresh.

Ghostkid - I love the modern wood series done in the simple remake. I've actually done that to decorate Kitt's house.

Mine is a living room too, but with a fireplace instead of a TV. It has a sitting chair with a dresser on the other side of the couch & fireplace, and then along the outside wall I have a table (for purses, wallet, whatever) and an umbrella rack. I like how it turned out but I totally get the struggle! The main room can be hard to decorate nicely because of all the entrances to other rooms.

I usually decorate my rooms in a weird way only I can understand so..
