3DS XL Streetpass troubles?

Heya, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Both me and my mother have a 3DS with Streetpass turned on, understandably we meet each other a lot, but if we go out for the day together we won't meet the same people while we're out.
We went out today and she met 4 people while I met only her. I should mention that while we're out we're always in the same place in the same shops so I can't understand what's happening.

We were out last week as well all day and she met 5 people and I met 3, not including each other. None of the people we met on each system were the same.
Does anyone know what's going on here or where I could go for help?

You could try these, most of the time, this works for me.


1. Try opening StreetPass Plaza and go through your StreetPasses at least once everyday so you can reset your StreetPasses.

2. Try opening and closing your 3DS to reset your StreetPasses.
