Since my current 3DS XL malfunctioned, I've been debating on what to do. Should I get another 3DS XL or the New 3DS XL?
I don't know what the console differences are. Something about Amiibos? [I don't pay much attention to that sort of thing]

The New 3DS/XL has the amiibo scanner built in, a tiny analog thingy that only one game actually uses and upgraded specs.
That's about it.

I would advocate for the New 3DS just cuz I reckon more games will probably eventually make use of that second joystick thing.

the new one is amazing and beautiful.
some games use the extra joystick on it and it's the best! majoras mask for instance.

like @ lucitine said as well it does have the scanner which is awesome. graphics are great, volume is louder and clearer..

I've been thinking about that too. I kinda veered away from Playstation and Xbox because it seems like majority of games are gonna be exclusive for those future consoles.
I'm gearing towards Nintendo since past games are compatible with new stuff.

I've only ever been a fan of nintendo, so I couldn't really say about other consoles xD
But if you have to get a new one, why not upgrade? Unless I'm extremely mistaken, they are quite close in price if you buy brand new.

I've looked on Gamestop for the New 3DS XL. They don't have a standard blue one [as far as I know]. I don't need a bundle pack either since I'm picky about games and it's a bit too pricey for that.
Just wanted a solid color one. Would've liked blue, but maybe black. Not red though, cause it looks too flashy.

Hmm..I wonder why they don't have the standard blue one. Maybe sold out?
Seems there is a slightly big gap between the prices. Have you tried looking at online retailers? Play-Asia has the blue one, but I'm not sure if theres a price difference.

I'm not sure what Play-Asia is.
But no, the Gamestop website doesn't have any standard blue one listed.
I'll probably get a black one, add some stickers to it or something.

Play asia is an online retailer that sells games/consoles from various regions.

I just checked, the price in USD for the blue one is $269.99USD. I can send you the link if you're interested :)

There was a major sale for the New Nintendo 3DS in Target/ Australia.
Further 25 per cent off. So I got my one for around $190 AUD ~
I can say it's significantly faster and the inbuilt amiibo reader is a lot more efficient.

My boyfriend has a black one. Its not very solid black. Kind of looks more like...a shiny charcoal?

I've got the "Old" 3DS XL but the New XL seems better in pretty much every way. Except poptarts. Old XL is much better at poptarts.
