3DS Wi-fi Help

This may be unrelated but I couldn’t find a other forum to put it but how can I get my 3DS to connect to the wifi when I try the test will pass but it will say “unconnected” in the top left corner. Solutions?

Is the yellow/orange light on the right side of the device lit up? (It should be next to text labeled ‘wireless’ and a spring-return lever)

Yes but I have a new xl so there is no switch

Do you have the Wi-Fi registered in the ds? That might be the problem
