So my 3DS control stick is loose, and I'm not sure what I should do. I'm planning on getting a New 3DS XL but I want to know if getting it repaired is another option.

First of all, try to contact your closest Nintendo rep and set up for a Nintendo 3DS repair to replace your Circle Pad. Then, determine if the price and waiting time are worth shipping your handheld or just get a New 3DS XL.
If you bought that 3DS system less than a year ago, the potential price will be much lower than simply getting a new system.
