****3DS Not working?!****

I turned on my 3DS. It freezes for like 3 seconds, but the sound is still on. The Wi-Fi doesn't turn on; It just says "Enabled". After like one minute of waiting, a black screen pops up with:

"An error has occurred.
Hold down the POWER button to turn off the power, then turn it on again."
I do so, and turn it back on. Same thing happens.

What do I do? I'm so terrified. I don't want to reset, I don't want to send my 3DS for Repair because I have the ACNL download and all my data that I'm sure will be gone. Please, someone help me. I'm having a panic attack. I went on support.nintendo.com like it said, but I found nothing.

Hmmmm, not sure what's happening but you should be able to save your ACNL data since it should be saved on an SD card? Unless you're using the built-in memory on the 3DS. Your best bet is to remove the SD card and try sending it off for repairs.

No, it was just on the menu. I waited a few seconds for the internet to turn on, but the error popped up.

That is odd, I have never experienced that problem. Only when I pop out a game without pressing the home button. Let me delve for more answers to see if it is possible.

Was your 3DS on sleep mode or powered off?

I think you have encountered the "Black Screen of Death", you need to send your 3DS to repair.

Either that, or something is glitched with the firmware.

My second town is on the SD Card, but everything else is on the system. I just don't want Nintendo to format it or something.

Is that it? Everything is fine except that you are offline when the internet is online?

Well I haven't checked again to see if the error code pops up. I'm trying to see if I should send my 3DS in for repair. A lot needs to be fixed, but I won't be able to play ACNL. All my villagers will move out, and Nintendo may restart the system. Ugh, I hate this.

What's more important is fixing your 3DS! I've never heard of anyone experiencing this problem, though.
Since you have the digital version of ACNL, you can easily create a backup of your town and save that to your computer while the system is in for repair.

Nintendo doesn't format SD cards, I'm not sure where you got that but it's wrong unless its a very recent change.

I'm going to go ahead and call Nintendo to see if I can arrange a repair and also ask questions.
My 3DS seems to be working fine now, but it needs to be repaired anyways. There's a lot of physical damage. I've heard that people even got a new 3DS from Nintendo - As glorious as that may sound, I would like to keep the one I have because then I'll lose everything :/
