i have a 3DS XL and for almost a year now it's had a dead pixel or something on the top screen that's always drove me crazy, and i have my 3DS covered until January, but i'm too afraid to send it in due to the possibility of being charged, even though it is indeed under warranty until January and i was told on the phone that they may end up having to replace my pink 3DS with something different and i really don't want that.

can't they just simply replace the top screen since that's where the issue lies?

anyway, has anyone else had to send in their 3DS, and if so, did they replace your handheld or actually fix the problem? were you under warranty and still charged?

im not sure about your problem.

when i sent in my DSi because it wouldnt turn on anymore, they sent a completely new one. after several months, that one stopped working as well. i THINK i was under warranty, not sure about being charged. i was only 10 at the time.

oh i see. D: that's a bummer. well, thank you anyway.

If you're under warranty and haven't done anything to void said warranty, you should be fine if you send it in. The major problem is that if they've warned you they might just replace the whole thing, you're not getting that pink 3DS XL back. You could try and see about getting them to replace it with some special edition that they might have of a similar color (I think the Disney Magical World XL is pink) or accept a regular XL. Personally, unless it's this big cluster of pixels I wouldn't bother sending it in.
