Funky Town
I was bummed when I first saw Boone, who was a random move-in. However, I talked to him a couple of times and then fell in love with him. He's so awesome and I actually like jocks.
Freckles!! I only started liking the ducks when I played New Leaf (although I had Mallory in my WW town and I loved her too). I had Pompom in my 2nd town but then I restarted that one because I didn't like my layout and I was hoping to get her back... but then Freckles was one of my starters and I fell in love with her too so she's my replacement Pompom!

Rosie and Rodney were some of the first villagers that moved in my town. and i got to love both of them rather fast.
I started playing AC with Wild World and one of my original villagers was Vesta. I initially thought she was cute because of her fluffy sheep design but she really won me over with her sweet personality! :> I had her in a town in City Folk as well and I've had her in towns in New Leaf. It always puts a smile on my face when I see her!
Of course I have come to like other villagers as well, but she will always have a special place in my heart!

I have a lot of complicated stories of villagers growing on me and my favorite villager list changing, but Static was the very first villager I grew to really love (it was over four years ago). Now, my favorites list is very different from how it was when Static was my favorite villager.
Then, my favorite villagers were Static, Sally, Tangy, Alli, and Miranda.
Now they are Astrid, Mathilda, Valise, Sylvia, Rooney, Walt, Ankha, Velma, and Apollo. Big difference!
It is funny how a lot of people have had the same absolute favorite since the GC Animal Crossing first came out, but there are people (like me) who have their favorite villagers changing as time goes by. It's really fun to observe yourself and others over a period of a few years then compare yours and their new favorite villagers list to their old one.
Then, my favorite villagers were Static, Sally, Tangy, Alli, and Miranda.

Hopper and Kyle. Hopper was a starter in my first town and he's the reason why I fell in love with crankies, and Kyle was one of my original move-ins and my first ever smug. I ended up deleting that town right after he moved in. I don't really care much for Hopper anymore but obviously Kyle stuck.

Shawna, that is a good point too! The villagers I used to like were the super-duper cute ones, ex. Flurry, Sprinkle, Marshal etc. but then when I had Pashmina in a town that changed. She isn't very popular, but for some reason her combination of personality and design I really enjoy.
In terms of why I've continued to like Vesta...I think it goes back to the fact that she was the first villager I really liked when I first started playing the game. It's sort of like when you have a certain scent that triggers a memory...? Vesta triggers the first memories of AC for me, which is wonderful because it's turned into a game and a hobby that I've enjoyed for years now :>
Rex in my gamecube game. He was one of my starter villagers and I instantly fell in love with his adorable looks and his lazy personality. I was pretty bummed to find out he never made it out of the gamecube version though. But maybe he'll come back in another main series animal crossing game soon! or so I hope and pray

Wendy definitely grew on me. I only had that town for a week, but I loved that silly little sheep.
Peck also grew on me; at first I hated him. I bullied him, I made him a McDonalds employee (I was young and weird, don't judge XD), I really wanted him to move. But then, when he eventually asked me to move... I couldn't let him. It wouldn't be the same without that little bird.

I ended up liking Ken, Cyrano and Sparror xD didn't take me long to like them but at first I favoured all the cute looking one xD
Phil took the longest for me to warm up to, but I did eventually and I adore him. He's really funny and strange and his shirt always spreads around my town like the plague and it amuses me. I love Phil. Probably my third favorite villager.
