2nd museum floor, week after expansion, why no cafe request?

So, it's been a week since I got the 2nd museum floor, but nothing from Blathers! He's wide awake but I talked to him and there's NO CAFE REQUEST! Am I doing something wrong, missing something, or has Blathers forgot how to ask fore a cafe?
