20x wish limit changed?

It used to be you could only get up to 20x star fragments from wishes unless you had people visit your island, then you could get more, but I visited someone's island yesterday and I wished a number of times without keeping track. I don't know how many but I feel it was a little over 20x. There was no one else visiting and now I have picked up 23x fragments on my beach so far. Maybe I got credit for the few wishes they made, but I didn't think that was supposed to work unless you had visitors to your island.

Do you share your island with anyone? I believe the star fragments are separate for each player, but other players can pick yours up if you log off before collecting all of them, so if the other person also wished on stars, logged on today and didn't collect all of their fragments, then you logged on, you might end up collecting some of theirs.

But yeah, otherwise, I understood that up until now it was exactly as you had explained - if you host, you can get more fragments for visitors wishing on stars, but I haven't heard of visitors getting more, too.

Maybe it was some sort of a glitch, but I'm glad you chimed in, because that's another scenario where this could of happened, but that wasn't the case.

That's really interesting that you made 13 wishes and I got 3x extra fragments, because you are supposed to get 1 fragment for every 4 visitor wishes. So it's like I got credit for your wishes on your island! Bizarre!!

i'm having another meteor shower tonight so maybe i can report back.

I got 71 fragments after my last meteor shower. I was the host though and I had a lot of people over making wishes.

I think it's just random.

I clicked over 200 stars the first time there was a shower, and got only eight fragments.

Another time I only clicked twice, and got five.

That's really weird. I have always had 20 show up after wishing 20 times, but sometimes it took a while for them to all show up. Well randomness only makes games more fun sometimes!

thanks for quoting, i almost forgot to ping. i had 4 guests come over (1 being a side character of mine from a different town). everyone made over 20 wishes each during the meteor shower.

my visiting villager (not the host) got 20 fragments total the next day. my host villager got exactly 40. i don't think i missed any fragments, but while i was collecting it certainly felt like i picked up more than usual. i think it took longer for them to wash up than before. that might be why.
