My theme is progressive Mr.Fox lol
Up until NH, I never used paths, I never liked them, thought they usually looked terrible etc. I just liked having a forest that my villagers lived in. This time around, I dove right in and started using paths, so the front half of my island is present Mr.Fox with a neighborhood laid out, while the back part of my island, all on the clifftop, is just unaltered forest and houses representing past Mr.Fox.

My island doesn't really have a theme, but I've given the area around my villager's home their own mini-themes. For example: Muffy lives in a witch cabin, and Raymond's home is next to a city skyline! Everything else is just stuff I slapped together. Currently working on a library right now
