2 dumb questions

Ok so ive tried to do paths but how do I swich the designs in my patern tab with the ones saved from able sisters without it changing my paths same goes for downloading paths whenever I place a path down save the design then download nother design replacing it KNOWING that the path is already saved it changes into the one I downloaded How do I prevent this???????????

Also how do you plot reset so a villager you want moves in like when I try I cant even find the plots of new villagers with a new character (not the kind where you choose where a villager lives)

Only the patterns in your pattern tab can be on the ground. If you change or switch them out, they'll change the ones on the ground. There's no avoiding that.
If you start a new character, and can't find a house plot, maybe nobody is going to move in that day, or it's in a really hidden location. I always do a grid type search, back and forth, from the top of my town to the bottom. If I don't find one, I try again just to be sure.

These questions aren't dumb.

For the first question, touch the patern you want to switch and drag it over to where you want it. It gives you two options: swap or copy. Choose swap, then the paths should be unchanged. However if you choose copy it will replace the path.
