so, i've asked this before & i've done everything: make a new character, befriend them, ignore them, and it's been six months real time & a lot of tting later & i still can't get my accidental tenth move in to leave & there's no one else i can boot out first to get rudy to go.

i found this post where a few people said it was possible to get the tenth out easily, but does anyone have any idea of how to do that differently from regular tting methods/villager cycling/etc? i don't know what to do anymore. D:

that's what i keep hearing, but others have said differently, so i want to hear those methods. :Oa

In my experience, the what the person said above you is true. Diana, my tenth move in, hasn't asked once to move and I've had her since November. Every single other villager has asked to move.

I've heard it is possible for the 10th to move out, but I think that it is a very rare chance. It's personally never happened to me before.

Might be a rare chance, but it definitely happens. I've had 10th villagers a few days after moving in (sometimes the day after) ping me to move.

Well that would SUCK, because I have had Punchy for months, he's my 10th villagers, and I only invited him because my friend really wanted him, and all my other villagers are dreamies, so I'm not planning on letting any of them move :/

it's happened to me once, but only by accident, since i didn't do anything special: wart jr. asked when he was my tenth, but i haven't been able to have it happen since.

the post i linked to & other sources online say it is possible for the tenth to move, but idk how. D: am hoping the folks who did get their tenth out will post here. orz

Ignoring them does nothing.
Even the ones you adore will still ping or move out without notifying you.

Oops, I skipped this - did you do anything? I've heard people say this before, like with Marshal, etc. Could you tell me what you did if you remember anything peculiar?

I've cycled villagers since August of last year and I've had quite a few times where my 10th's have tried to leave days after moving in. So it is possible for your tenth to leave without another moving out first. Pinging is completely random...I'd say just keep trying to build your relationship with him until he asks. Usually they try to leave before you get to the point of earning their picture.

thanks for the verification! am trying that now while tting my heart out, but it's really difficult. i spam talk himm every day before tting again to the next dice roll.

Spam talking can be bad especially if you annoy them in the process by doing it too much.
Just treat him like any other villager...talk to him, see if he gives you a task, complete it to the best ability (expensive fish, expensive bugs, customized furniture, perfect fruit, etc), and then leave him alone till the next day...and eventually he'll ask.

oh, i didn't think it counts as annoying them, but will change tactics now. D: maybe that's why it's been taking longer for me. orz

thanks for letting me know! ;;

ok, just posting this for anyone else who has the same problems as me with their tenth villager:

1. i made new characters for the past three days, introing myself to everyone & talking to them all except the villager i wanted to move. everyone but said villager i want out of my town wanted to move except that d-bag rudy. I: so, i'm not sure if the new character trick doesn't work on the tenth villager of if it's just my game, but so far, i've found it doesn't work.
2. still tt'd normally, and he still won't move. i'm thinking some copies of the game will let the tenth move & maybe others not? i've seen other players with the same problem as me, so i'll just go with that for now.

hope this helps anyone else who's run into this 10th villager problem. it may just be bad luck or awful randomization, but those are the results of my efforts.

Poor you :< From personal experience my newest move-ins never ask to move out. I recently had Willow who placed her home in a bad spot. I time traveled day by day sending her letters everyday and spamming her with chats and fulfilling her requests. I used the megaphone to check her friendship level with me which was as high as any other villager who always asks to move out but still to no avail. I'd like to believe that move-out prompts are truly random but if that were true then every villager would have an equal probability to ask to move out right? But from personal experience, that has never been the case. There's definitely something that makes it so much more difficult to move out that one specific villager. I've had problems moving out Papi, Mallary, Willow, Frita, T-Bone, and Charlise all who required a neighbor sacrifice before they'd ask to move-out

In my experience this is true for campsite villagers, but I've never experienced a wi-fi villager so I'm not entirely sure.

ugh, tell me about it. i know what you mean about those certain stubborn villagers. \: i've had my share of them when i had to cycle 16 out to get stitches back...then again, i only had two slots open, so that made it much harder.

hahaha, omg, neighbor sacrifice. yeah, that's what it sounds like. but, i really can't give anyone else up. ): i look at all of them and think that it's because of them i can keep going & hope rudy leaves. i would be super sad if one of them had to go just because he was stupid about moving. plus, his AI is super creepy. i've never heard of them pinging if you ignore them long enough, so. ehhhh. i just want him gone. ^^;;;

anyway, i hope you don't have to sacrifice anyone else anymore! a good number of people i've asked have said the last one can move out, so our random dice roll must just really suck. :c

yeah, i haven't heard good things from wi-fi or invited villagers, but people have said the last can leave. so...idk what the factor is in getting them to move! D:

just thought i'd compile my findings in case someone else ran into the same problems.

I got Tabby as 10th villager from wifi, and I got her to move out within a week of moving out another one before her.

I didn't introduce myself or anything. Completely ignored her. A week after someone moved out, she followed.

...though maybe I got lucky? 8U

I have had Gigi as 10th before in my old town. I introduced myself, ignored her, and she took more than 6 in-game MONTHS to move out. I've moved out so many villagers out by then. So, I was thinking, maybe it really is faster not to introduce yourself at all.
