  • I'm laughin over here trying to picture what you're describing because I just can't. Haha. To be clear, are the cedars touching the row of holly, or is there an empty row between them? If they're directly touching, it may just be because of the "no more than 12 bushes/trees connected to each other" rule.

Haha, sweet, I have Amelia and Avery in my second town and I think of them as best friends. They were both celebrating Amelia's birthday the other day, it was so cute. And aw, that's ok. I still have to move someone out of my main town and I don't TT there, plus, I haven't even decided who yet. It'd have to be one of my two snooties, since the whole reason I want to move Anchovy over is to even out the gender ratio. But I love them both, ahhh.

Thank you for offering to hold him though, I may take you up on that whenever the time comes!
I do remember your river being very similar to mine, just on the opposite side, which makes me think it's a good map, or one I would've liked anyway. This is my first AC game too and while I did figure out you could scroll through several map options, I put embarrassingly little thought into the one I chose haha. I just thought, well, I have no idea what I'm looking for, but how much of a difference could a map possibly make. Ahhhh.

Am I correct in assuming you like the eagle villagers? I will gladly keep an eye out for Keaton for you. :)

I actually have a villager (Anchovy) in my second "temp cycling" town that I'm thinking of moving to my first town and I've been debating whether it'd be worth it to have someone hold him. On the one hand he's not popular at all so I could probably get him again for cheap or free, it's just a matter of actually finding him, since tier 5s tend to be so rare.
Yeah you'd have to remove a row first, for the same reason -- the tree needs adequate space around it to grow. The issue you had with your bushes is interesting, and I think it's because bushes follow a similar rule, in that one might not grow if it's surrounded by too many others on either side. By removing one bush from the end you allowed the one in the middle room to grow, and of course the one on the end grew back fine because it wasn't surrounded. Here's a guide that kinda explains this because I'm probably not doing a good job haha.
I figured the empty spots were "dead" spots, I was wondering if you left them there intentionally, but you probably got that, haha. There actually is logic behind every dead spot (at least, I think so -- I have yet to come across one that I haven't been able to figure out the reasoning behind it). In your case the problem would be planting too many at once, so the outer trees end up "smothering" the ones in the center. Planting them one row at a time allows each tree room to grow. Yay!
Ohh wow those pictures are amazing. Yeah, I definitely agree with the mentality of making the best of what you have. I feel like any obstacle can be worked around with enough creativity + problem solving, so I don't really relate to people who reset for hours looking for that "perfect" map (that doesn't exist, imo), or reset their town months into the game because they're dissatisfied with something about their layout. But maybe I was just blessed with a nice map that never gave me too many problems, haha. I do have a higher than average number of ponds and rocks which I feel would've turned a lot of people off, but I've grown fond of them and it is interesting to think about how they influenced my landscaping (can't say the same for my villagers' houses, since I did reset for most of them lol).
aaaah, if that`s the case, feel free to pass him on to someone else dear, I don`t think I can stay up that much longer. I`m in ADT, so it may be a bit difficult to line up depending on your zone. But ja, you can go ahead and give him to someone else if you feel that would be easier, it`s no fuss to me at all.
ah ! it`s okay dear, if it`s okay with you, I`ll probably just keep an eye on your gates and hop in when there`s a free spot, if that`s fine with you, of course. If I`m not able to get him tonight, you can pass him on to someone else, I completely understand, and it would be for the best that way.
I have to be off to bed soon dear, terribly sorry, so is it possible to pick up Colton soon? I`m so sorry for the delay on this hkfgdhkjfgg I feel absolutely horrible.
ahaha sorry!!! I only saw it now, there was so many subscribed threads that pushed it down~ I've just replied ;)
Yeah I actually just visited your dream town! Shortly after I posted my own in that thread. I'm not currently in it so I can't be as detailed as you were about mine lol but things I remember really liking: the little setup with the statue fountain and the different colored roses and the bushes, the benches with the matching flowers around them, the fountain directly in front of the town hall (we think alike, ha). I did notice there were empty spots in your "forests" of fruit trees, I don't know if they were intentional (to make it feel more natural?) but if they weren't, you could easily fix them by chopping all the trees down and replanting them one row at a time. :)

Ahh I don't always talk to villagers in dream towns but I had to talk to Fuchsia and Erik, who are two of my favorite villagers that I've never managed to make room for in my towns. And Pippy, since I used to have her -- she was one of my first ever 'dreamies' -- and I'll always have a special place in my heart for her.
Thank you very much Zulehan.

"I especially like how much more 'organic' the town looks despite obviously being planned." This is probably my favorite thing anyone's said about my town, this is very much the feel I was going for. Although ironically a lot of the things you described -- particularly the area by Gladys's house with the windmill -- were some of the least planned areas haha. The windmill's been there from long before I started really working on my town, everything else just kind of came up around it. Bamboo was a pretty late addition too. I wasn't a fan of it until I saw it utilized really well in a few "zen" towns, and I figured using it in a few places would break up the monotony of all the oak trees (and since I already had the whole place filled with flowers by then, I didn't have to worry about the bamboo spreading haha).
Aw, yeah I've done that with a few villagers before that I thought I didn't really want. Like when Cube asked to leave I told him to stay even though he wasn't a dreamie. If he asks to move again I might let him go though. I'm also starting to really like Shari too sooo we'll see where that goes
Thanks! Nah, I love Amelia, especially her house. I had her in WW so I'm kinda attached to her <3
Ack, sorry I recently picked up Amelia and have 10 villagers now. :/
Thanks so much for the help though, I really appreciate it!
Did you find Groucho a good home? I hope so, he's awesome :3
I wouldn't be able to pick him up anyway since I got Ribbot to finally move out of my cycling town and into my main town. And also I'm on vacation so no 3DS Wi-Fi.
Right .. I wish! A dish I'd really like to master is an authentic Pad Thai. Though I'd need a wok for that.
