If it makes you feel any better I was trying to TT some new villagers out ( two new ones came in and built their houses RIGHT in front of my bridge, not to mention I didn't want them) and the game sent Shari out. Even though you said you found someone else to get her from I was trying to get her to ping as a back up.
But it's fine! She wasn't a number one on my list, but she would have just been a nice addition. No worries. ^^
