Yeah, figures... oh and yes. A 3DS can connect with a DS and via verse if you want to play a DS game.

If you are trying to get your 3DS friend code, it goes like this:
1. On the touch screen, there is a smiley face, click on it.
2. It should give you your friend code, but you might want to test your Internet connection on your 3DS first.
As for AC: WW, sorry, it's been so long that I forgot, but it's not hard.
