You gain the coins by turning your ds into sleep mode then walking around with it. You know how you press power then you have to press power again before you turn off the power all the way? If you leave your ds with the power off screen then close it, you will gain 1 coin for every 100 steps. I take my DS to school everyday so I have a bunch of coins
