It may be possible?? but I don't believe I should have anyone in my void. I can't say for sure though. I did use Gracie to drop off some azalea starts in my town before coming to pick up Tia. That's not a guarantee of no one in the void, but it does normally clear the void to visit a town with 10 villagers.
