If you ask me, we should embrace the decorations for the traditions they originally came from - celebrating/bringing life and color to the darkest days of the year.
That means that I think that decorations like the lights and decorated trees could really stay up for quite a while longer. Even for a winter lover like me, it's always kind of depressing to see all of the decorations and colorful lights go away. These traditions began for a reason. I wish we would embrace them as brightening up winter-time, as opposed to associating them specifically with leading up to Christmas.

We leave it up until January. It keeps the spirit going. It'd be depressing to take everything down right when you just had a great time.
My thoughts exactly, so because you don't like people celebrating the festive time from Christmas onward or even before hand and decorating prior to that day, means we should stop?
People can celebrate/decorate for however long they want because it makes them happy and just because it doesn't please you does not mean they cannot continue to do so, Let people be happy and make yourself happy.
No. I checked the calendar. It doesn't say anything about Christmas after December 25.
The irony of this is that saying Christmas is over on the 25th is like the pinnacle of its commercialization because people don't recognize that christmas is a season anymore ???
Well damn, you're actually right lol. The only reference to the 12 days that I've ever heard is the song about getting stuff for 12 days, so you can't blame me too much. I still enjoy getting a rise out of people though
