You can have towns set on different season and visit them. During winter one of my towns it was Spring.
Also you can have one town set for daytime and one set for evening. The daytime town drops by and both players go to the island to bug hunt. Fill 2 baskets in one trip.

I play late at night at Club Tortimer. If the island is quiet and I'm short of medals I send my other town to Club Tortimer. Most of the time that town arrives at the same island. Buy abunch of silver axes and than leave.
