    I did this recently. I had been playing for 30 days and had received my Village Representative Badge (for playing 50 hours.) I time traveled one day at a time for 20 more days until I was able to sit on the town tree. Then I sold my town. Worked out perfectly. So it seems to be 50 hours of play...
