I just found this, it has a good mix out of sharp & soft shading [x] You will especially notice it on the skin (legs). The person worked with "fringe", you can see that especially on the hair shadow and the dark clothing.

But what means rinkaku? xD

No, both shadings can have just as much blending. Blending is just mixing colors together and having many different hues. Sharp is... ACK I can't explain. Please bear with my images. [sharp] [soft] I hope you can see what I mean ;-;
Cell shading is... you use just one hue for each section as shadow and you don't blend it. You can take a look at roroselle's cell-shading chibis. Yeah soft-shading is kinda blurred. It's not a bad thing! I think mixing soft with sharp is just right, but maybe that's just my opinion. I guess everyone has to find their own way.

Yeah, I guess because they're cheaper than fullbody stuff. I was thinking of making a small (really small this time) chibi for only a few dollars.

Oh.. good chibi with soft-shading.. gonna dig a lot for that XD Because most people just use cel shading on them, since chibis are supposed to be simple. You probably can't imagine what a struggle I had to start drawing chibi! I don't think there's that difference in difficulty between both styles, it's just a matter of experience. I've always just drawn anime, until I came here. Everyone was like "chibi here" and "chibi there!" so I went through the pain to learn to draw it. If you look at my big chibis, they kinda still look very anime like (proportion-wise). I'm so used to it...

Are there Ghouls outside of Tokyo too? Like, everywhere in the world...? When I started watching it, I was really surprised, since Ghouls already seemed to be standard. I thought it's gonna be something like an epidemic where everyone panics once they found out Ghouls exist.

Oh, darn... well, for example ardrey, her chibi-shading is actually really sharp and there's only very less blending.
You can see the difference between very sharp and very soft very good if you compare ardrey's chibis with those examples I sent you

well It probably also depends on the art program you use... you see, if you blend in a new layer above the base color layer, it won't blend with the base color, it'll just be painted over. The "fringe" setting makes the blending sharp, not too soft/smooth. Have a good mix out of soft and sharp shadows [lookie] [for comparison] You only used soft shading on your cheeb. I mean, I'm not giving you instructions to do it exactly like this! Everyone has their own methods and styles, and there are people who soft shade all the way and it looks great, though idk how they do it xD Those are just my individual tips.

Taking references is good! Not tracing it 1 on 1, but having a basic idea what to go for! Even experienced artists do that. Even Picasso did.

ummm... that would be about a good color palette. When you blend colors, new colors will appear. Use the right colors to blend, and the right colors will appear. I think Yamio has made her own color palette public, you might wanna google it C: (need to do that too) I often just open Kyukon's drawings and steal the colors from the drawing with the pipette lol. They both have very good color palettes!
Yeah dyanicsm.. dyanicms? DYNEWNJFNJ IDK is always good! Add action instead of just standing straight, and adjust the flow of hair & clothes with the movement. You did that pretty good!

So you basically shaded one section in multiple layers? I did that once too, because you have a better color control with the filters and layer modes than just doing it all together in the base color layer, but I don't recommend that anymore. If you're going for real shading (no cell), I'd do it in the base layer, I've done that on my latest art piece too (the headshot); and I really liked how the skin shading came out. If you have "fringe", use it too. It'll almost look a bit like Kyukon's shading!

The last few days I stayed up to 9 am. I am hardcore.
Lemme see... the legs are perfect. The shoes lack detail. If you look at kyukon's shoes, they have so many freaking details... idk how she does it tho. The arms seem to lack depth in color, they're nicely shaded but you almost can't see a shadow because there is not much difference in the hues. The dress has too smooth shading imo and also lacks a bit of color depth. Play around with many colors! And it lacks flow too. You see, the part below the ribbon is 1 big piece of cloth. The folds would flow in one long line and not a chopped line from the end and the beginning, if that makes sense. The ribbon and necklace lack detail and kinda look "drawn on", not 3d. Give it more depth.

The head has no ears, and the shape of the face seems too.. rectangular? Or rather, like her cheeks are too thin/pressed together? idk I can't put it into words. look here [x] chibis have wide faces. The hair seems very thin, almost as if she were shaved a bit around the neck, and kinda like it's not part of the head. Sorry I'm so bad at explaining stuff... The eyes look really nice now! Maybe draw the black lids in a different hue, dark pink, blue or into a skin-color so that it gains depth and becomes one with the face. I think you should have added a little part of the mouth, it looks a bit like she has none even if she's covering it '-' About your fingers, I find they look a bit sausage-like xD Maybe draw them a bit thicker? I think it's nice you added a bit action with the wind blowing! Well, that's all I can think of. That maybe sounds harsh, but you REALLY improved so much again in such a short time. You've got so much potential
