    That... Was incredible. Just everything about it. There are no words to describe just how amazing totality was. It almost didn't look real! And how quickly it got dark in the minute leading up to it... Even if the rest of this trip doesn't pan out, with that moment it has already paid for itself...

    Got some pretty solid cloud cover here unfortunately, though it's looking better than it was earlier. The clouds have gotten thin enough for the sun to start peeking through them, hopefully they continue to clear!

    Less than 6 hours left to totality where I am! The cloud cover models for the eclipse are looking significantly better today too than they were even last night, I really hope they pan out like they are saying, or even better if possible so more people can see it!

    A reflection is not sufficient, the light reflected will still be too bright to view safely for anything short of totality (which at totality, and only at totality, you can observe the eclipse directly without eye protection anyway so the reflection wouldn't be needed).
