I think when it comes to villager adoptions, the adopted usually moves in 1-3 days. Sometimes they don't appear on the next day, so it seems like reset trick doesn't work sometimes. xD I had my friend reset crazily for the first 2 days and never saw their adopted's plot, and we got all nervous, but the villager moved in on the 3rd day. I've experienced plots appear and not appear on the same day when using the reset trick too. xD
