Thank you, though I should give credit where credit is due, that that compassionate, guiding approach is nothing more than what I've been taught in my Early Childhood Education classes. Teaching us the effectiveness of guidance over punitive measures is one thing they drill in your head, and for good reason. So if I sound like a good parent, its because I got it from professionals. ^_^ I also make a habit of being empathetic on the internet because I know how it feels to be misunderstood and not able to articulate what I meant. To others it may be them simply giving their opinion, but to the subject it can quickly feel like they are being "ganged up" on, and that's a feeling I'd like to dispel if possible. I am also not usually this articulate either, it surprises me. Maybe I'm channeling Piaget...?
