Zodiac Signs affecting friendship...?

Back in City Folk, I had Purrl in my town. She was super friendly to me and she was like my BFF in the game. When I got into New Leaf, I was messing around on the Animal Crossing wiki and i found out that Purrl is a Gemini... i am a Gemini too! Which leads me to ask... do the Zodiac signs affect your friendship with the same sign villagers?

There are only 8 personality types (or 6 in the older games). All peppies will be similar, for example. Astrology has nothing to do with it.

Nah, I don't think so. I mean, if we follow the compatibility of horoscopes in this game it must be so inaccurate for me since it always says that "Aquarians don't get along well with Scorpios" but here I am, being good friends with Bam and Snake. I think it's all about your personality preferences, maybe I just don't care if Bam and Snake are Scorpios and I enjoy the company of jock villagers, and Lionel & Bones are Leos but I'm not fond of lazy and smug personalities at all so I hardly cared about him.

I have no idea..i dont think it does tbh.
Pancetti is like my closets friend in New Leaf and shes Scorpio and I'm capricorn xD
i dont think it has anything to do with zodiac signs, maybe its personalities?
Then again saying that, I had Felicity in my town and i couldnt stand her, and i found Rosie boring when she moved into my town and now I have bunnie and i love her to bits xD

It's an interesting concept, but I don't think Horoscopes have an effect in-game.
Yet, considering we had Katrina read horoscopes and tell us if we're going to have a good or bad day, the thought of star signs influencing how much a relationship would grow in a particular day sounds like something to see in the next AC game. What a cool idea! x)

Interesting idea :3 There might actually be some truth to that because I knew that two of my peppies (Chrissy and Cookie) don't seem to get along (several of my other villagers have told me that now).

It'd suck though if it was based on zodiac signs, because there'd be some villagers you'd really want to be friends with but you wouldn't get along with them because your signs wouldn't be compatible. Although I get along with quite a few geminis and i'm a scorpio. LOL. Although I think it'd be pretty cool as well, because it'd help you to get to know other villagers that you wouldn't usually pick. Interesting question though! But if it did have an effect in-game atleast i'd still be good friends with Ruby, since she's a capricorn and my favourite villager.
