If you like your villagers, then your town is perfect anyway. It's really rude to go to someone's town and just critisize their taste in villagers, and it'd be boring if everyone's towns had exactly the same villagers all the time, so I say enjoy being different and just delete that person and forget their negative comment and concentrate on your town and fab villagers

...and this is the kind of attitude that makes some people resent the whole concept of 'popular/most wanted' villagers. =__= People need to lay off other people's taste in villagers, whether it's totally mainstream and consists of a dreamie list of Julian, Ankha, Merengue, and Marshal, or someone who has none of those and likes all the ones people have never even heard of.

I think it's a fairly rude comment, but maybe they didn't intend for it to be. Maybe they just playfully said that, thinking you didn't like some of your own neighbors either, and would agree with them (which was a wrong judgment call). Knowing me, I would've probably just brushed off their comment, or explained why I liked my neighbors, since I'm not a confrontational person.

In general I would find it kind of rude for someone to critique a town without the town owner asking for critique. People have different goals for their towns, different tastes, different favorite villagers, and different ways of playing (ie. not everyone trades online or time-travels to get hybrids/items quicker), so it's silly to judge against some non-existent standard of perfection anyway.

If someone said that to me, I'd say something like "Um, I like [insert villager name] >.>" Hopefully, they'd get that I wasn't pleased with their comment and apologize.

I wouldn't really care if someone didn't like my villagers. They don't have to say anything. But if they're gonna judge your town like that based on what villagers you like, then they don't deserve a spot on your friends list.

My villagers are all somewhat popular, especially Stitches and maybe Wolfgang. I don't find appeal in having Marshal because I like Jacques better. I don't want Whitney because I like Olivia and Purrl.

I think it's boring having the same villagers as everyone else. There's absolutely nothing wrong with liking the popular villagers, that's why they're popular, but I wonder if people like them because they actually like them, or if people like them because they're popular.
Regardless, everyone has their own taste in villagers. It's rude to call someone out on it because they're not popular.

A lot of people are rude out there. Just play the good host long enough for them to leave and then later delete their friend card off your system.
