I thought this could be an interesting topic. The town names I've seen are pretty diverse, some from video games, flowers, or foods. My town is called Mortmain, and the reason for this is because I really like the books A Series of Unfortunate Events, and a mountain range in the books is named "Mortmain Mountains." After naming my town I realized that the word "mortmain" is a legal term meaning perpetual ownership... perfect because the mayor owns their town forever:)

I named my town TickTock because I couldn't think of anything else to name, so that just came to mind.

I have no idea how I came up with it. I wanted a town full of trees though and I suppose I wanted a cute name to play off that. I really dislike it though.

My Pants, because that's what I named my gamecube town and I happen to have the same level of maturity since then

My second town is called Corral because I wanted some horsies to move in and maybe have a qt farm-like town. c:

Junkyard because my towns have always been chaotic messes. Checking for similar named towns in the Dream Suite looks like I'm far from the only one who thought it was a suitable name!

My first town was named Pandora from Borderlands.
My second town was named Nowhere because I was watching Courage the Cowardly Dog while making my town.
My third town was named Elkreath because I couldn't fit Falkreath.

I originally wanted to name my town Pamplemousse (grapefruit in french) but it was obvs too long.... and then me and my friend were thinking about other foods and I wanted some candy and I've always thought konpeito were cute, so I named my town Konpeito lol. Glad I did too, I def. like Konpeito more than Pamplemousse lmao

Achewood is after the webcomic of the same name by Chris Onstad, which I was reading a lot at the time that I started my town last summer (and really need to continue reading one day because it is so great)

Swansea is after the song of the same name by Joanna Newsom (kind of obsessed with her atm tbh)

Sudden is an Arrested Development reference, after Sudden Valley, the subdivision that the Bluth Company is attempting to build. (It's brought up in one episode how unappealing the name is because it implies that "something awful could happen all of a sudden" and I just thought that was so funny)

I specifically chose names that are references to things because I don't trust myself to make up a name that doesn't sound stupid and that I won't get sick of after a week, ha

My first town's name is Akiba, which is short for Akihabara which is a district in Tokyo.

My second town's name WAS Shiba, which my friend suggested. I reset my second town though and it's now named Shae. I didn't like how similar Akiba and Shiba were but I still wanted a town name beginning with an S. I'll probably reset it again once I return a friend's villagers to her and I'm unsure what I'll name it then.

Just used Parfait because I love Parfaits :3 anything really sweet actually cause I always have cravings for sweets~ >.< so my town is going to be sweet themed!

I originally wanted to name my town Azalea after my favorite pokemon town; however I thought it would be too cliche so I altered one of the letters to be Azalia.

I named my town Moonfiz because I usually play at night. and It sounded awesome. I also used the conjugation or alternative of "fizz" to fiz to connote animal crossing as my alternative universe.

My main town's name is Error. I named it that because that is the name I used for all of my main towns for each of the earlier Animal Crossing games, though I'm not quite sure why I called my first town Error in the first place.

My secondary town is called Foxwell, which was a randomly generated name I got from a town name generator, because I had no idea what to call the town.

Melas is Salem backwards. Salem is where I grew up. It wasn't a great place to be, to be honest. So I think I'm trying to reverse that in a way- by making my town a nicer place and caring for it.

My fiancee's town name is Sycahole after a dream I had about Professor Sycamore creating a sort of "Batcave"- only, of course called the "Sycahole". My fiancee thought this was hilarious, and used it for his town.

I had trouble picking a name for my town for the longest time, but I was originally planning on naming it Fairhaven after the peaceful, virtual town created in the holodeck for the crew to relax in on Star Trek: Voyager. Seemed like a fitting name too. Unfortunately, Fairhaven was too long, so I nixed one letter and it became Farhaven. Still kind of fitting.

I had two friends visiting me and while they were visiting, I decided to buy ACNL because the both of them were playing it at my house. So I took all of us to a Gamestop, bought the game, and I couldn't think of a town name. I was asking them for suggestions, and one of them suggested "Iwatobi" because we happened to be watching the anime "Free!" I really love the anime, so yeah. I became the mayor of Iwatobi haha.
