Hello!

I bought "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" this past August. I didn't get wireless until November. And it's been fun, thus far, with visiting and having visitations with members of this site. So, I thank you all.

A situation I would like share (and hope it's not too much reading)?

I have ten villagers right now. They're noted in my signature. After Dec. 30 (Jan. 20 in my game timeline), I will be losing Shari. I like her. But I'm up to full capacity of 10 villagers. And I want to mix things up. I recently had visiting campsite animals that were worthy of moving in ? such as Lucky and Moe ? and they could not move to my town, Applewin, because of the limitation of no more than ten villagers.

I don't want to mess myself up in case, one day, Julian shows up at my campsite. (I've considered limiting myself, in the future, to not ten and not nine but eight villagers.) So I need to get in gear for some changes. My fault, a human one, is with finding my villagers in general to be very good, even sweet, and so worthy of keeping that I get a little emotional with losing them. Weird, yes, but I admit it. And that's not really the way this game is supposed to be played.

Given my current list, and with future consideration, I will ask for people's opinions on which villagers I should be moving out and which ones should I be pursuing to move in.

I'll explain the appeal, to me personally, of the current cast of villagers (along with their listing in order of my preference of most- to least-desired. They're all very nice. But still?).

Oh, and thanks to all in advance!

CURRENT VILLAGERS
01. Jambette ? Some find her creepy (because of her lips). I find her good-hearted and huggable.
02. Scoot ? He's got, can I say?, moxie. He's high energy, and he has a winner's attitude. When he yells, I know it's because he's an excited supporter of all my human characters (I have four!).
03. Drago ? This lazy crocodile is cool; constantly ready to eat. He cracks me up. He's great entertainment having around.
04. Kidd ? He's tender. I don't want to lose him. And he appreciates good flowers and plants as gifts. (And he welcomed my Mayor Jill to join sitting next to him on an outside bench.)
05. Pompom ? She is sensitive. And that is evident with her need to please.
06. Twiggy ? She thinks highly of herself. And that's not necessarily bad. Over time, she grew on me. (And she welcomed my Mayor Jill to sit next to her on an outside bench.)
07. Hans ? This gorilla is a lovable lug. And I think he's good for variety of the types of animal villagers to have present living in Applewin.
08. Keaton ? I didn't keep track of "New Leaf" originals; but I almost let him go prior to finding he is original. (I had played "City Folk" but not "Wild World" before "New Leaf." So I didn't sufficiently keep track of the cast of villagers and in which of the series each had originated.)
09. Clyde ? I had him in "City Folk" and he's very pleasant and good-natured; but he's not a long-term villager to keep above those who are listed ? above. (I'm ready to move him. Yet he is fairly new to Applewin.)
10. Shari ? She is low key but considerate. Bee stings by humans, who present one's condition to her, causes Shari to immediately sympathize and give to the human some much-needed medicine. I don't enjoy letting her go; but I must move my town forward. (And I'd feel good giving her away to any willing taker.)

EX-VILLAGERS
11. Walt ? He was a grumpy but good villager. The old but wise villager. I couldn't keep him forever. He ranked with me lower than other male villagers. (I keep in mind trying to get a balance of male and female villagers; even if it's not an equal number of each gender.) So, I had to let go of Walt.
12. Velma ? She was a pain. I didn't care about how some snooty villagers can be a benefit because, in reality, I didn't want her around any longer. I disliked her. After she yelled at one of my humans for the re-tail prices being supposedly too high (after she asked for advice on whether to make a purchase) ? I made the decision to step up my efforts to get her to move out of Applewin.

I have pics from the current villagers: Scoot; Twiggy; Keaton; and Shari.

I have pics from one ex-villager: Walt.

I would like to get the pics of all current villagers before letting them go. Walt sent his pic, to Mayor Jill, via mail just after his exit. (I felt some guilt.)

DESIRED MALE VILLAGERS
01. Julian ? I'm convinced he's so in-demand that he has to top my list.
02. Stitches ? I became convinced that I should get him after viewing a player's video at YouTube.com that included Stitches. That he's more than worthy.
03. Lucky ? Ironically named, he's a funny dog to have around.
04. Eugene ? I love his looks. He may make the town interesting.

DESIRED FEMALE VILLAGERS
01. Tammy ? Same reason as above-mentioned Stitches. I came across her in a Dream Address (as I have with Julian). She seems like a very likable villager.
02. Broffina ? A topic was covered at this site about funny things said and/or done by particular villagers. Broffina was apparently quite the surprise. She looks comical. So, why not?!

Any others worth having on the list ? you can let me know.

So, to recap, I am asking:

Which current villagers on the list should get moved [out]? (Even the highest-ranked ones can be suggested/advised.) And which animals need to become resident villagers should they appear at my campsite?

Personally, I'd ditch Jambette and Clyde. Vesta was in my CF town, but I started to like her less and less to the point where I just let her go. Drago I let go of, and I made 1m bells off of him. I regret it now, to an extent.

Julian should be a high priority, if you want him from the campsite. I mean, you could go to VTP, but I mean, that value... The others are great dreamies.

These are your villagers, not mine; remember that this is what I would do, and I don't make the final decision. Hope this helped.

FireNinja1,

Thanks for your feedback!

I seriously invite all who respond to please feel free with telling me what one would do if he/she had my cast of [current] villagers … and future considerations I should make for my town. I consider the suggestions/advice to be a positive for me. That there are good reasons for the suggestions/advice.

Thank you!

Sounds like you wouldn't mind as much if your bottom three current villagers were to leave. If you're worried about "originals", you could always replace them with any combination of Julian, Eugene, Tammy, and Broffina since they're New Leaf originals as well.

For Julian, do you genuinely love him and would love to have him, or do you just love him because he's in high-demand? Your comment could go either way, so I'm only asking that for clarification. I'd only take him if I genuinely enjoyed him. I would never pick someone just because they're popular only because it may turn out to be more trouble getting them than it's worth. Therefore, if you really want him, then go for it! Otherwise, think about it a bit more. I had a hard time tracking down and moving Beau in, but I eventually did it. It was all worth it. :) Wouldn't have been the same feeling if I didn't really like Beau.

I would ditch Hans and Jambette. Both of them are eyesores and over time, your views on them will change. You shouldn't go after Julian unless you really, really like him because he's hard to get. Auctions for him easily reach 20 mil. Just waiting for him from the campsite will put you in a situation where the odds really aren't in your favor. Lastly, are you sure you want Broffina? She's a chicken which are walking, talking bloated, bowling pins. She's snooty. Make sure you can take insults from a chicken. There are better snooty villagers out there.

The most glaring problem with your town is that there are no snooty or cranky villagers. I'd recommend having at least one of every personality type represented. I'd snag Broffina when the chance comes - she's awful groovy. You haven't mentioned any crankies you're interested in and maybe you're getting along just fine without any, but I could never live without the variety.

I, for one, love Jambette. She's pretty strange looking, but I like that in my neighbors. No one else looks anything like her at all. Also, deep green villagers are hard to come by. I'd keep her if I were in your shoes (I'm also maybe interested in taking her off your hands if just don't feel her).

Your dreamies are all pretty swell. I'd pick Lucky over Stitches and Eugene over Julian.

What is with me is that I hadn't been giving it enough thought to conceive of a town with a personality type that is, say, one from each category. It did dawn on me that a snooty villager is needed. But I should have also said to myself is, "Go for a cranky villager as well."

Yesterday all four of my humans were approached by Shari for a last-minute reprieve. I had each of them wish her well. She's a nice gal. But I can't bring in any one else while I'm up to full capacity of [10 current] villagers.

Jambette is sweet in nature and she's adorable. Personality wise. Her looks freak people out. It's interesting that people say to get ready to send her off her merry way. My Mayor Jill isn't getting her pic just yet. That's a need by me; to get the pics of my villagers. I thought by now that I had done enough for Jambette [via Jill].

Facilitating my move to get Shari is going is the fact that Lucky was in my campsite this week. (I think it was Monday.) It caused me to think that more of the desirable villagers (following Lucky was Moe, I believe on Wednesday) may be about to show up in my campsite. I had Lucky in "City Folk," and he was too funny; although I admit I wanted to see more of his face. (That bandage covers him a good 90 percent.)
